Someone on Formspring asked me about how I deal with a customer and what I do when I am doing a piercing on someone. Sooooo here it goes.
In most cases the people come to my house. I wash my hands thoroughly and apply a fresh pair of gloves. Once or twice I have run out of gloves (sadly) but have still done the piercing if it was on someone I trusted not to be disease infested so it was okay.
I always use sterilised tools and disposable needles, and when I pierce at my place I lay the person down and get the comfortable, usually chatting to them as I get everything set up. I get a clean plate and lay an alcohol wipe down, setting my clamp, fresh needle and sterilised jewellery down and then I clean the area I am going to pierce.
I either make a mark where I am going to pierce, or get the person who is getting pierced to make a mark if they feel they can choose a spot better than myself. I clamp the area I am going to pierce, where it is marked of course, and check each side of the clamp.
Then I proceed to pierce the mark, straight through so the needle comes out either sides of the skin. Then I pull the clamps off and slide the jewellery through.
Then I clean the wound, collect the money and voila! All done :)
